In May of 2024 I took my two young daughters to Yellowstone for the first time. They were completely blow away by the mystery and magic that exudes from this fantastic National Park. They studied about the hot pots and volcanic activity in school but studying it and experiencing it are two very different things. We took thousands of photos and made incredible memories.
One of our favorite animals is the bison. The bison in Yellowstone are much larger and originate from the original line of the indigenous tribes. Their mass and power are felt even from a great distance. This particular set of bull bison were in a spot that just blew our minds, literally. It began with the legendary Dragon’s Mouth cave blowing hot steam as it roared in our faces. Then we made our way up the board walks and to the top where we saw these bulls. Dang!!!! They were so massive and so grand! The main bull featured in this painting had such a kingly, proud, presence and carriage. I could not wait to give him a big stage, front and center on one of my paintings- and here he is! What a stud!
